The Chicago Hitmen remain perfect pushing their record to 16-0-0 after a three game sweep in Indianapolis. Overall the Hitmen outscored the Inferno 28-4 in the three game set 19 Hitmen made it onto the score sheet.
Friday (box score) was an 8-2 victory for the Hitmen. Robert Gervino, was the high point man for the Hitmen with 2 goals and an assist; five other players had 2 point games. Daniel Doyle had the game winner at 7:10 of the second period. Matthew Johnson, was the winning goaltender making 14 saves.
Saturday’s game (box score) saw the Hitmen come out strong going up 7-0 by the 7:09 mark of the second period. Kyle Clark was credited with the game winner at the 4:36 mark of the first. Andrew Poetzinger, was the winning goaltender with 19 saves.
In Sunday’s final game of the set (box score) the Hitmen had their best performance of the weekend; an 11-0 win. Michael Maines lead the way with a hat trick and an assist while Matthew Johnson stopped all 12 Inferno shots.
Stat of the weekend: The Hitmen out-shot the Inferno 198 to 49 over the weekend, meaning the Hitmen averaged over a shot per minute.
