Adam Alcott had two goals and one assist to lead the Wisconsin Whalers to a 7-2 victory over the Chicago Junior Bulldogs.
Alcott found the back of the net 18:17 into the second period to make the score 3-0 Wisconsin and again while 16:10 into the third to make the score 6-2 Wisconsin.
In the losing effort, Chicago was led by Ryan Maksimovic, who racked up two goals. Maksimovic scored the first of his two goals at 19:06 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Wisconsin. Toms Taurins assisted on the tally. Maksimovic\’s next tally made the score 4-2 Wisconsin with 8:48 left in the third period. Taurins picked up the assist.
Wisconsin excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Whalers forced the Junior Bulldogs goalie Michael Paku to work between the pipes, taking 54 shots. Wisconsin outdid its season average for goals scored. The Whalers have scored at the pace of 3.8 goals per game during the current campaign.
Wisconsin also got points from Thomas Hanson, who also had one goal and two assists. Wisconsin also got a goal from Ryan Martin as well. In addition, Wisconsin received assists from Alex Anderson, who had two, Joe Perrelle, Dan Addie, and Isaac Hale, who contributed one each, and Will Holtan and Peter Henderson, who each chipped in three.
Chicago\’s offense rang up 32 shots on Wisconsin\’s net. The Junior Bulldogs could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.
The Whalers\’ Chris Johansen stopped 30 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Wisconsin incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Paku rejected 47 shots on goal for Chicago.
