La Crosse blows out Chicago, 6-1

La Crosse had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-1 win over Chicago.

La Crosse was led by Dylan Goggin, who registered one goal and one assist. Goggin scored 12:42 into the first period to make the score 2-1 La Crosse. Justin Edwards picked up the assist.

La Crosse\’s penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Chicago power plays. Chicago was unable to stop La Crosse from sending pucks towards the net, and La Crosse eventually piled up 63 shots on goal.

La Crosse additionally got points from Daniel Toycen, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for La Crosse included JP Eykyn, Taylor Trapp, Case Moioffer, and Ben Henderson, who scored one goal each. More assists for La Crosse came via Brady Thiering and Cameron Pries, who contributed one each and Alexander Rickoff and Jared Bromberg, who each chipped in two.

Chicago was led by Trevor Foley, who scored the team\’s only goal. Foley scored 43 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Chicago. Scott Coash Jr. assisted on the tally.

Garret Matz recorded 22 saves for La Crosse. La Crosse incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Chicago\’s Jimmy Smith stopped 57 shots out of the 63 that he faced. Chicago incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
