The Chicago Junior Bulldogs\’ Michael Ellis scored 1:24 into overtime to beat the La Crosse Freeze, 3-2 (OT).
Ellis had two goals to lead Chicago to victory.
The Junior Bulldogs\’ penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five La Crosse power plays. Chicago\’s offense rang up 37 shots on La Crosse\’s net.
Chicago additionally got points from Kyle Barna, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, Chicago received assists from Scott Schroeder, Matthew Adams, and Henry Hearon, who each chipped in one.
The Freeze put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Junior Bulldogs to score on any of their four power plays. La Crosse kept Chicago\’s goalie busy throughout the game, and Sam Harden made 35 saves on 37 shots.
