The Bulldogs played on the road for the second weekend in a row and came up short in a couple of hotly contested games, falling 3-1 and 6-4 to the St. Louis Jr. Blues.
Chicago 1 @ St. Louis 3 – The Jr. Blues get the win in tonight’s low scoring game, three to one. In the 1st period, St. Louis gets on the board first with a goal from Alex Klaesner and the assist coming from Tommy Heinzman. In the 2nd period, St. Louis gets their second goal of the night from Daniel Dunaway. Andrew Wingbermuehle gets the assist on the play. In the 3rd period, Chicago gets their only point of the night with the goal coming from Even Mitchell with Taylor Hamilton getting the assist on the play. St. Louis gets the last goal of the night coming from Tommy Heinzman with assists from Alex Klaesner and Zane OBryan.
Chicago 4 @ St. Louis 6 – St. Louis takes the win tonight over Chicago, 6-4. Chicago got on top first with a goal from Michael Ellis. A minute later, Michael Howard got Chicago’s second goal of the night. St. Louis countered with two goals, the first coming from Tommy Heinzman on the power play, and the second from Alex Klaesner. In the 2nd period, Chicago gets their 3rd goal of the night from Niko Moulakelis. In the 3rd period, tacks on another four goals coming from Chris Brown, Trevor Thornton, Daniel Dunaway, and Alex Klaesner for his second of the night. Chicago adds another from Max Piper but it wasn’t enough. Cooper Cothran gets the win in net with 33 saves.
The Bulldogs will be off this week and will open at home September 27 against the Defending Central Division Champion Peoria Mustangs at Canlan Ice Sports Romeoville.
