Weekend recap: Bulldogs win home-and-home

Chicago Junior Bulldogs 3 @ Wisconsin Whalers 2 (SO): After the play of Chicago goaltender Michael Krch last weekend it was the play of the other Junior Bulldogs goaltender that stole the show tonight. Joey Garapolo turned in a 40 save performance that includes shutting down four shooters in the shoot out to give the Junior Bulldogs the win. Chicago and Wisconsin swapped goals in the first and third with the last one coming from Wisconsin forward Zach Johnson, which tied up the game for Wisconsin. The extra period went by and it came down to a shootout and Garapolo was rock solid as he paced his team to the victory.

Paku turned in his biggest performance in the middle frame as he held the Whalers scoreless as they put 19 shots on net and could not beat Paku. Both offenses woke up in the final frame as they combined for 5 goals. After an early Chicago goal the Whalers received goals from Adam Alcott and Mitch Riese to tie the game up at 2.
